George Washington Carver

A Man Who Talked with God and Benefitted the World

One day George Washington Carver said, "Please Mr. Creator, will you tell me why the peanut was made?"

God answered his request and Carver invented over three hundred products that are currently benefiting people all over the world. He was a humble man who walked with God and did great works for His glory.

When Jealousy
is Right

Our Jealous God

Jealousy is a fear of being displaced by another person. In this sense, God is a jealous God. He is concerned that we will replace Him with other people or things and miss out on all the marvelous benefits He wants to bring into our lives.

This book will teach you how to love God with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength. The rewards of loving God are beyond our ability to imagine, as Scripture states "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him" (I Corinthians 2:9).

Discover Your Two Purposes in Life

The Foundations of Total Health!

1 Enjoy Your Creator

The greatest wonder of the universe is that the God who created it longs to have a moment by moment fellowship with us! Imagine walking and talking with the One who fashioned trillions of stars and knows each one by name. Imagine learning about His character and being able to ask Him questions about every detail of our life. Nothing is too great or too small for His loving heart. He wants to reveal the hidden wisdom of Scripture to us so that we will be better equipped to carry out the great works for which He created us.

The psalmist testified, ". . . in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore" (Psalm 16:11).

This fellowship with God is the foundation of true health. God has promised that if we walk in harmony with Him and His way of life, we will enjoy the power and the health that is needed to fulfill the purposes for which He created us. Paul responded to this promise by saying, "Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me" (II Corinthians 12:9).

God's nature is love, and true love never demands or forces love in return. Therefore, God has given us a free will to either accept or reject Him. In rejecting Him, we will experience mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual consequences of that choice.

2 Achieve Great Works

We are designed to do great and mighty works, because God is great and mighty, and He designed us in His image and likeness.

God wants to do great works through us in order to demonstrate His love and power to the world. Therefore, we read in Scripture that ". . . the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him . . ." (II Chronicles 16:9).

During His earthly ministry, Jesus carried out great works. He healed the broken hearted, proclaimed liberty to those who were captive, opened the prison to those who were bound, and brought the good news of salvation to those who were in Spiritual darkness. (See Luke 4:18.)

At the end of His ministry, Christ said to His disciples, "...He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father" (John 14:12). Imagine doing greater works than Jesus. These works would not be greater in quality but in quantity. For example, He came to one nation, but sends us out to all nations.

A great work must:

  • be motivated by love,
  • meet basic needs,
  • and be directed by the Lord.

These three requirements can become our experience as we learn and live out the Commands of Christ.
